Arguing & Feeling Icky.

I hate. Hate. Hate arguing with Niisan. My temper always kicks in (thank you, Leo-ness) and either he wins because I don't feel like being flexible or he gets super mad at me and I give up so he wins anyways.
You may or may not be wondering what brings this up.
Well, we're kinda-sorta arguing over something in an RP.
I really want to bring in a cute little witch girl, but he doesn't have a character lined up so he wants to use a just-as-cutesy girl.
While I have nothing against the character OR yuri, I really don't want it for this character. He, however, is being very very stubborn.
On more downer topics, I'm pretty sick lately. Fever hovering at around 99.9 and my stomach feels like crap. I've been quite sick a lot lately and I have a doctor's appointment on June 4th, the day after school gets out, to get some tests done and see what's up.
Well, that's all I really have to vent about, I'll try and update you after the doc's.
Ciao y'all. ~Rena.

Charge of the Light Brigade!

Hey all. Today, I'm gonna deviate from the normal routine of something funny and/or educational. Instead, today, I'm going to give you a poem to chew on, and what it means to me.
I'm going to go over each part one at a time, then post the whole poem.
The poem was written after the disastrous Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War.

Charge of the Light Brigade
by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
(Basically, this is the start of the battle. They had to charge half a league. The valley of Death means that they were performing what was essentially a suicide attack. The six hundred were ordered to go in and fight, completely out-numbered and out-gunned.)

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
("Keep moving, keep going!" they were told. They held their spirits up, and though they knew it was a mistake, that it would end badly, they didn't question why. They did as they were told, like patriots are expected to do.)

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
(Surrounded, nowhere to go but forward still. Cannons all around, having good changes of hitting them every time. But did they retreat? No! 'Boldly they rode.')

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
(They fought valiently, fighting off enemies all around. As people asked what the heck was happening, they fought on. In the end, their enemies retreated.)

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred
(And still, they kept going! The six hundred were NOT about to stop until they'd won or died. In the end, only about 150 men came back from the battle, heroes to their country.)

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!
(They went down as legends. The world will remember the fight they put up. And though the world questioned it, they will always be honored as heroes.)

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'

Meds: 3 Rena: 1/2

My, my, dear internet. It has been awhile. I dont even really know why I'm writing right now, it just sounded like a good idea.
You may (or may not) be questioning the title. Well, long story short my new allergy meds are kicking my ass.
But drawing happy clouds and rainbows and whatnot earlier, when i was still up, helps a lil bit.
So, on a less depressing note, this summer Alex-nii is going to be coming up to, yes, IOWA!!!
He'll be here pretty much all summer, I guess, and I'm hoping to be able to take him to Anime Iowa in Coralville, on the east side of the state. Yay, three hour drive?
Working on a list of things to do. So far the top of my list are the pool party I'm planning, A.I., cosplaying, and spending a few weeks camping out at my grandma's (funner than it sounds) or Barbie's.
Anyone have any other ideas??
Well, thats all I've got to say for now. Maybe one of these days I'll have something really interesting to say like Niichan always does.
Until then. Rina.
